America's Second Harvest: Program Planning
Date: | Monday, June 4, 2007 |
Time: | 9:30am-12:30pm |
Overview: |
THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY OPEN TO GRANTEES OF AMERICA'S SECOND HARVEST. Nonprofits sometimes get great program ideas, and then those programs fail. Failure might be due to circumstances beyond our control, but, more often, it’s because of poor planning. This half-day workshop will focus on the steps that you can take to increase the chances of having a successful program—whether it’s a one-time program, or a long-term program. Through interactive exercises and small group discussions you will learn how to address these important program planning questions: * Does the program fit with your mission? * Is there client demand for the program? * How will the new program fit with existing programs? * What are you trying to accomplish? * How will you track your success? We will also touch on how program planning is similar to strategic planning and proposal development. |
