This high-energy workshop will guide you through the nuts-and-bolts of getting a powerful e-newsletter out the door. You’ll learn how to:
* Clarify realistic goals for your e-newsletter and who you have to reach to achieve them
* Shape the right approach – content, style, how much interactivity with readers
* Design the most effective delivery – frequency, “look and feel”
* Master the mechanics – opt-in vs. double opt-in, list management, in-house vs. outsource

Alexander Graham Bell said, “When one door closes another opens, but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we don’t see the ones which open for us.”
This workshop is designed to help participants step up to the next door—the next job opportunity—and feel confident about their presentation and taking on new challenges. So how does a job seeker sum up a lifetime of experience on a sheet of paper or in the 45 minutes given for an interview? How is it done when some interviewers do all the talking and others ask questions that barely seem relevant? Through interactive exercises, participants learn how to define their career and job history in terms of concise, action-oriented phrasing that will make recruiters and interviewers take notice. Participants also discover the key to successful cover and thank you letters that can tip the scale in their favor.
By the end of the workshop, participants will know how to:
* Design a resume that clearly communicates strengths and experience
* Write persuasive cover and thank you letters
* Organize their thoughts and prepare for the interview
* Provide great answers to even the worst interview questions
* Find and secure a new job that’s a great fit

Planning in a rapidly changing context requires people and organizations to be clear about their core purpose and to align themselves with the environment in which they are working to achieve that purpose. Many people are finding that elements of the traditional planning process, such as a self-contained planning committee, SWOT and detailed long range objectives, are not giving them the perspective, information, flexibility or collective will they need to advance their mission. Concepts and practices that we will explore in this workshop include:
* Tools for understanding the environment from a whole systems perspective
* Articulating shared, powerful core purpose
* Designing a productive, inclusive planning process
* Developing systems for ongoing, system-wide strategic thinking
